Liverpool Nursery
From brief to launch.
The end-to-end process behind Liverpool Nursery — strategy, design, clean WordPress development, performance, and a smooth handover.

01
The brief
Liverpool Nursery, on Stanley Road in Bootle, needed a site that could win a parent's shortlist before a visit — the promise sits right on the page in its own words, "Every Child Deserves The Best Possible Start In Life," backed by a Montessori-quoting philosophy and the EYFS framework.
-
02
Strategy & Wireframing
Instead of hiding pages in menus, I turned the homepage into a hub of eight colour-coded photo tiles — About Us, Curriculum, Admission, Staff, Prospective Parents, Events, News, Contact Us — so a parent lands and picks a door. Nursery Fees and Meals got their own footer links, because those two questions come up every single time.
-
03
Design & Branding
Cloud-scalloped section edges, a cream-and-pink palette, crayon-bright tile borders and little hand-drawn doodles (paper planes, stars) make the site feel like the classroom walls, while a "Dream / Play / Learn" trio of photo cards fronts the welcome text.
-
04
Development & Integration
I built the slideshow hero (the "Imagination Will Begin" slide sells the indoor play structure), the eight-tile grid, an Upcoming Events block with the ball-pit photo, and a masonry Event Gallery — plus curriculum coverage of all eight EYFS areas, from Communication and Language through Expressive Art and Design.
-
05
Responsive & Speed
On a phone the eight colour-coded tiles restack into a single thumb-width column, so every section stays a full-width tap target instead of a shrunken grid.

06
Launch & Delivery
The nursery went live at liverpoolnursery.org with admissions, fees and meals information, the EYFS curriculum pages and the event gallery all published — enough for a parent to decide to book a look around.
