    // how it was built

    From brief to launch.

The end-to-end process behind Connective Counselling — strategy, design, clean WordPress development, performance, and a smooth handover.

    1. 01

      The brief

Shannon Deacon is a Toronto therapist with a Master of Social Work and 20+ years working with families, and her hero promise is a single line: 'Making connections matter.' The site had to move visitors from that idea straight into her free 15-minute consultation.

    2. 02

      Strategy & Wireframing

We mapped the homepage around one question — who is this therapy for — so the 'What we offer' grid names all six streams: Children's Therapy, Couples Therapy, Family Therapy, Parent Coaching, Individual Therapy with Adolescents and Adults, and Perinatal Individual and Group Therapy. I kept her 'Practically Parenting' blog and a Resources page in the main nav so her writing keeps feeding the site.

    3. 03

      Design & Branding

I paired her orange handprint logo with deep plum photo overlays, indigo buttons and pale lavender section backgrounds so the pages feel calm rather than clinical. Her about section uses a black-and-white portrait with a '22+ Years Experience' counter overlapping the frame.

    4. 04

      Development & Integration

Every one of the six service cards carries its own 'Book Now' button wired into her scheduling system, alongside a persistent 'Get Appointment' button in the header. I also built the 'Get a Free 15-minute consultation' banner as a full-width CTA band before the footer.

    5. 05

      Responsive & Speed

People often look for a therapist on a phone in a hard moment, so on mobile the six service cards stack full-width with each 'Book Now' button sitting directly under its short description — no accordion to fight with. The hero keeps its 'Get Started' path visible before the service grid begins.

    6. 06

      Launch & Delivery

The site went live at shannondeacon.ca with the booking paths tested end to end, her Danforth Ave, Toronto address in the footer, and a note above the services that every session runs virtually or in person.
